The Art of Living founder, world leader and humanitarian, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has been known to intervene with considerable success in disputes of a sticky, communal and tense nature and has globally contributed to resolving conflict situations by building alliances and consensus following persistent dialogue.

The most remarkable is the formal ending of a 52-year-old civil war between the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and the Columbian government with the signing of the peace agreement under the leadership and guidance of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in 2016. Another noteworthy effort is the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute that went on for over a century, and had polarised the country for multiple decades. The mediation process led to a balanced and historic judgement of the Supreme Court in 2019.

From Kashmir and Guwahati to Syria, Iraq and Columbia, Gurudev’s mediation and conciliation efforts have been commendable and have been applauded world over. This has also rightly won him the title of the Global Citizenship Ambassador, and several other awards in recognition of his pioneering work as peacemaker, humanitarian, spiritual teacher and global interfaith leader.

Justice M. L. Mehta

Justice M. L. Mehta, a former Judge of Delhi High Court, has made his name in legal fraternity in terms of integrity and dispensation of justice by delivering thousands of judgements, many of which have been landmark pronouncements.

He was among the first batch of Judges who got trained in Mediation from ISLDS (California) in the year 2005 and started Court annexed Mediation in the District Courts at Delhi. As In-charge and Co-ordinator of Mediation Centre, Delhi District Courts, he established full-fledged court annexed Mediation Centre in 2006. He developed indigenous Mediation Training modules the same year and as the National Master Trainer imparted training in Mediation to Judges & Lawyers, and also contributed in the establishment of various Court annexed Mediation Centres across the country under the aegis of the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) of Supreme Court. He has also been actively associated with the MCPC in preparing National Training Manual on Mediation. He is known for his passion in settlement of disputes through Mediation and Conciliation and has successfully mediated over 1200 cases. Because of his pioneering in settlement of disputes, he was selected for Weinstein JAMS Fellowship (of USA) in Mediation and was awarded the honour of an Outstanding International Commercial Dispute Resolver.
